Whole Blood is neither intended nor indicated for routine use. Whole Blood is to be used only when other blood products are unable to be delivered at an acceptable rate to sustain the resuscitation of an actively bleeding patient. Proof of licensed physician required for ordering.

BUNDLE CONTENTS

• Vampire Donor Kit (DTK-VPD) ×4 — one per fire team member
• Vampire Recipient Kit (LVD-VPR) ×1 — medic bag administration set

Each Donor Kit carries the collection system behind the soldier’s ballistic plate — ACD-A collection bag, site prep, blood typing card, tube clip, and labeling. The Recipient Kit carries the administration set in the medic’s bag — Y-tubing, catheters in two gauges, saline lock, syringe, and site prep.

SYSTEM DESIGN

• Fire team scale. Four donors and one recipient kit — configured for the standard four-person fire team. Every member carries the collection capability; the medic carries the administration capability.
• Under-armor donor carry. Each DTK-VPD is plate-shaped and designed to ride behind the soldier’s ballistic plate — invisible from the outside, immediately accessible when needed.
• Medic bag recipient carry. The LVD-VPR fits inside the medic’s bag alongside existing clinical supplies — no separate staging or additional pouches required.
• 12-month shelf life. Both kits carry a 12-month shelf life from manufacture — plan procurement cycles accordingly for sustained operational readiness.
